ウミライって何？
それは「人と海がともに豊かになれる持続可能な未来」のこと。

例えば、海藻の生態系を改善しながらCO2を削減する
「ブルーカーボン・クレジット」を推進したり。
人口が減っても、島で人が快適に住み続けられるよう
「島のエネルギー自立」をめざしたり。
環境に優しい海上交通として「EVボート」で新しい船旅をつくったり。

ウミライをつくる方法は、一つではありません。
どんな人が、どのように暮らし、どんな未来をめざすかによって、
地域の数だけ、それぞれのウミライがあるから。

わたしたちは、脱炭素社会に向けたカーボンオフセットを
海に暮らす人たちとともに考え、行動し、かたちにしていくラボラトリー。
瀬戸内海から、世界へ。

Creating our “Umirai”
“Umirai” combines the Japanese words for “ocean” and “future”, and represents a sustainable future where people and the ocean can coexist sustainably and properously.

How do we go about shaping our “umirai”?
By promoting “blue carbon credits” by rehabilitating seaweed ecosystems and reducing CO2 emissions. By aiming for energy self succificency on the islands of the Seto Inland Sea so that people can continue to live comfortably even as populations diminish. By reimagining a new kind of boating experiences with environmentally friendly EV boat transportation.

There are many ways to create Umirai. Each solution is unique to that region’s local people, their livelihoods, and their ideal futures. We are a laboratory commited to thinking, acting, and realizing carbon offsets for a decarbonized society in collaborating each step of the way with the people of the sea.
